'Endless Love' Movie Review
I watched ‘Endless Love’ and I enjoyed it. It stars Mr. Alex
Pettyfer and some other, less important people. I don’t know if most people
realize that Mr. Pettyfer’s movie career began before most people became aware
of him. If you were lucky, as I was, you caught his first blockbuster ‘I Am
Number Four’ and certainly he became a household name with ‘Magic Mike’; but
Mr. Pettyfer, for all his 23 years, also had a previous British movie career,
notably including ‘Stormbreaker’, in which he acts opposite non other than
Mickey Rourke – and holds his own.
In any case, ‘Endless Love’ is a remake of a 1981 movie of
the same title, starring Brooke Shields and a - more or less - forgotten Martin
Hewitt, which caused a mild stir in its time. It is a classic tale of teenage
passion met with disapproval and overwhelming obstacles.

Winter's Tale
I watched the movie Winter’s tale and I loved it. In fact, I
watched it twice, that’s how much I loved it! Winter’s tale is a love story set
in a mythic New York City and it takes place in two different times, the early
1900’s – if I’m not mistaken- and today, thanks to the premise of the movie,
which is that love can perform miracles. It is sprinkled with pop theology and
spirituality and it is a story very well told, cinematically. It stars Colin
Farrell, Russell Crowe, and Will Smith. I have to say that Colin Farrell seems
to be exceptionally gifted genetically; he is nearing his fifth decade and yet
looks like and can play roles of men in their twenties. The film is
photographed exceedingly well (the winter landscapes especially are
breath-taking), is fast-paced and interesting and I whole-heartedly recommend
it.
